After taking a step back in 2010 to re-evaluate, deconstruct, pray and rest, we are looking to relaunch The Bridge Collective- a community of misfits following or exploring Jesus in radical ways.In the past, we've seen a diverse group come together, including those involved in local hard music scenes, anarchists, artists, students, musicians, the poor & homeless, and regular Janes. We've produced a zine, put on art exhibitions and gigs, got involved in campaigns, worshipped, doubted, & shared lots of food as a collective. Those from faith backgrounds of Catholic, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican and other persuasions have joined us, alongside those without a faith label or belief. The common denominator often is only a commonly held interest or belief in Jesus and a desire to see the world become a better place. While we're overtly non-traditional, we also enjoy experimenting with some traditions as a part of our gatherings. Several of us are presently meeting together, discussing and studying scripture, caring for one another in small ways, but we'd like to see this develop into a lasting community that is there for one another and for our personal communities of which we're part. With that in mind, we are looking to recruit a few people to join in making this happen who have similar vision and passion, who are willing to walk with and learn with us. The types of people we're looking for to work with would be: humble, willing to learn from others (even more than to teach), open-minded, creative, passionate about working with the marginalised, and with a solid commitment to following Christ in London.
